If the application is approved, it is understood that MMC will underwrite, fund, administer and service the mortgage. You and MMC are authorized to obtain information you or MMC may require relative to this application from any sources to which you or MMC may apply and each source is hereby authorized to provide you and MMC with such information. Marathon Mortgage Corp. collects personal information for the purpose of making credit decisions about potential customers, to confirm identity and to prevent fraud and money laundering. To fulfil these purposes, Marathon Mortgage Corp. may, on occasion, request information about individuals from the files of consumer reporting agencies.
Once an individual becomes a customer of Marathon Mortgage Corp., the customer’s credit experience may be shared, on an ongoing basis, with other lenders and credit reporting agencies. This sharing of information is necessary to support the credit process. Personal information is used to manage risk, verify identity, make credit decisions for financing or renewal purposes, collect debts that may be owed to us, administer our files after closing and to communicate with the customer. Wherever possible, personal information is collected directly from the individual however, personal information may also be obtained from other sources including, but not limited to, credit bureau agencies, real estate appraisers, mortgage brokers and other financial institutions

Generally, the individual will be asked to provide written consent if Marathon Mortgage Corp. collects, uses, or discloses personal information but in some circumstances, Marathon Mortgage Corp. may accept verbal consent or determine that consent is implied through the individual’s conduct.
Retention of Information
Marathon Mortgage Corp. will retain personal information for as long as it believes necessary to fulfil the purpose for which it was collected and to fulfil legal or business retention requirements.
Updating Your Information
Since Marathon Mortgage Corp. uses personal information to provide services, it is important that the information be accurate and up-to-date. If any information changes, Marathon Mortgage Corp. should be informed by the customer so that it can make any necessary changes.
Access to Personal Information
A customer may ask for access to any of their own personal information. Summary information is available on request but more detailed requests, which may require archive or other retrieval costs, may be subject to a reasonable administration fee.
If Marathon Mortgage Corp. has information about a customer that the customer establishes is not accurate, complete and/or up-to-date, Marathon Mortgage Corp. will take reasonable steps to correct it.
Marathon Mortgage Corp. endeavours to maintain adequate physical, procedural and technical security with respect to its offices and information storage facilities so as to prevent any loss, misuse, unauthorized access, disclosure or modification of personal information.
